Managing Director

David is Stoke’s Managing Partner, setting the agency’s strategic vision and operational direction. He has provided marketing expertise to leading software and publishing companies for decades. David has worked with organizations including Microsoft, Novell, Adobe, Transformation Factory, and FranklinCovey, among many others. He holds a BA in English, a JD and a post-doctorate in international law.

Laurie Lohner

Managing Partner

Laurie oversees all aspects of customer success. An innovator and entrepreneur, Laurie brings more than two decades of experience leading marketing, social media, and digital learning campaigns for the world’s top brands. Throughout her career, she’s consulted with companies such as FranklinCovey, Dell, Cisco, Deloitte and others. Today, she applies that expertise to building successful global content marketing programs.

Nate Jackson

Vice President of Strategy and Development

Nate works closely with clients to ensure that Stoke services deliver the results our clients expect and the experience their customers want. Nate brings more than 20 years of experience in leading successful marketing campaigns. He has directed branding and marketing solutions for major corporations, including product launches, channel marketing, brand development and the marketing campaign for a New York Time’s bestseller. Nate’s strength is in aligning strategy, marketing, brand experience, customer experience and content. He has an MA in rhetoric.

Brian Barrus

Creative Director

Brian has a keen eye for forward-thinking design. As Stoke’s Creative Director, he oversees the design and visual direction of client campaigns. His 15 years of experience in creative design have garnered him more than a handful of awards, including the AIGA 100 Best of Show, the CASE Silver Medal and Award of Distinction, as well as PRINT Magazine’s Annual Design Award.

Sam Fonoimoana

Chief Analytics Officer

Sam’s passion is using data and analytics in a meaningful way to move businesses forward. He has helped companies such as Ancestry.com, Adobe, DOMO, Franklin Sports and Workfront over the past 10 years. Sam has deep experience across multiple disciplines from finance to data science to digital marketing, and he speaks regularly to the digital marketing community on topics such as attribution and data integration. Sam teaches Business Data & Analytics at BYU-Hawaii.

Jordan Karpowitz

Editor in Chief

Jordan leads the Stoke editorial team to produce a steady stream of client content that delivers a unique brand experience to our clients’ customers. She brings a wealth of communications expertise to our team, having worked with billion-dollar corporations, mid-sized businesses and startup clients across a variety of industries. As a PR veteran, Jordan has spent years successfully crafting and pitching stories to media outlets from local news all the way to The New York Times, The Dr. Oz Show and TODAY. She has authored and edited contributed articles to promote thought leaders on Harvard Business Review, Forbes and top trade publications, as well as promoted two authors with books on The New York Times bestsellers list.

Liz Alton

Chief Content Strategy Officer

Liz is Stoke’s lead content strategist. She specializes in enterprise and SMB-focused content marketing and social campaigns, and has written and developed strategies for Fortune 500 brands such as Hewlett Packard, IBM, Adobe, Intuit, Twitter and ADP. She builds on a background in global business strategy consulting to craft winning content strategies for Stoke’s clients. She’s a contributor to Forbes and many other publications, and holds an MBA and a BA in journalism.

Satta Sarmah Hightower

Editorial Strategist

As an accomplished digital journalist, content marketing manager and copywriter, Satta is passionate about creating well-crafted and engaging content that connects with audiences. She’s worked with marketing, public relations and corporate communications firms and local and national media outlets, including AOL, the Orlando Sentinel, the Columbia Journalism Review and Fast Company magazine. Satta has also produced and managed content for brands like Hewlett Packard, Accenture, Marriott, Sony, Ford, Chase and Orlando Health. With a master’s degree in digital media from Northwestern University’s Medill School and a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from Boston University, Satta puts her best skills to work for our clients.

Sarah Ekins

Director of Services

Sarah uses her organizational talents to bring together the necessary services — such as editorial, design, social, publishing and analytics — for each client team. She then builds and manages timelines and budgets for everyone’s success. She has proven her drive to excel by starting, growing, and selling two of her own businesses, and as director of marketing for an online education company. Sarah loves working in her community as well. She has spent many hours organizing youth groups and engaging them in uplifting activities.
